Schedule - LATN 211 - F21

This schedule links to the notes and charts that you’ll need throughout the semester. Your homework assignment for almost every class period is to read the notes and charts sections in advance of the class meeting; then, review those concepts again after the class meeting. Use the practice opportunities throughout the notes to improve your skills.

Monday, September 6

Substantive inflection
Verbal systems
Homework (due before class): Watch the following videos that my colleagues and I have created on 1) the inflection of nouns and their dictionary entries, 2) dictionary entries for adjectives, and 3) noun-adjective agreement. After you get a sense for how nouns and adjectives work, start to memorize the noun paradigms for the first three declensions and compare them with adjective paradigms, leaving off interrogative and numerals for now. Bring any questions that you have to class.

Present system verbs in the indicative
Homework (due before class): Read over the relevant sections on and begin to memorize the formation of the present indicative, imperfect indicative, and future indicative. Conjugate the verbs regno, regnare, regnavi, regnatus and dico, dicere, dixi, dictus in the present, imperfect, and future indicative active and passive.
