Schedule - LATN 199 - F20
This schedule links to the notes and charts that you’ll need throughout the semester. Your homework assignment for almost every class period is to read the notes and charts sections in advance of the class meeting; then, review those concepts again after the class meeting. Use the practice opportunities throughout the notes to improve your skills.

In sentence 5, pay particular attention to the “double dative” (dative of source/purpose and dative of reference) with the verb “to be”. Be sure you can identify what type of clauses and can explain any subjunctive verbs in them and write down at least three words or constructions that you found confusing in the passage.

- Homework (due before class): Translate the final sentence of the Prologue and all of Chapter 1 of the Life of Hannibal, marking out the clauses, both independent and dependent, and the main verbs within each. Be sure you can identify what type of clauses and can explain any subjunctive verbs in them. In chapter 1, pay close attention to the use of indirect statement in sentence 1, marking out the verb of the head, accusative subject, and infinitive as main verb.

- Homework (due before class): Translate the final sentence of the Chapter 1 of the Life of Hannibal and sentence 1 and 2 of Chapter 2, marking out the clauses, both independent and dependent, and the main verbs within each. For this assignment, try to unpack as we do in class sentence 2 of Chapter 2 - it is a doozy!
