Course Objectives
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Enumerate the difficulties that come with attempting to define the parameters of the ancient Greek world
- Explain why the idea of ancient Greece continues to be important in the 21st century
- Read ancient documents carefully so that you can analyze the biases and problems that ancient documents present for historical interpretation
- Articulate the role played by non-elite individuals and their larger importance to Greek
- Make broad connections between the past and present day and present them to the public in a digestible form
